"I've hung the photo..." Sho says from the other line.

It's barely raining now, and Kazu swears he can hear Ohno sniffling inside the house.

But it matters little to him at this point.

His feet are already taking him back to his car—

"If you've just stayed long enough, you could've helped me."

Kazu chuckles despite the tears in his eyes. "What changed your mind?"

"You..."

Taking a deep breath, Kazu pulls open his car door and says, "I'm sorry, Sho-chan—"

"I love you! I love you, Kazu..." Sho sobs, sounding so unusually vulnerable that it both thrills and breaks Kazu's heart. "Please... Just come home and let's talk. Okay?"

"Okay," he simply says. "I'm on my way."

He's already ended the call before he realizes he didn't say "I love you" back.

He's already driving when he realizes he's lost the ring.

And the rain has just stopped.
