It isn't so much a statement of fact as a realization only half-understood, and thus half-accepted.

The brooding feline has been staring at that photo on the wall since leaving Sho sobbing in bed.

Staring for so long that he can almost swear his 2D version has just smirked at him.

Mocking him for not knowing the things he ought to have figured out from the start—

Masaki's unusual silence only adds to his growing annoyance.

"What happened to me?" He asks anyway, wanting to throw tantrums all over the place, but knowing there's just no point in it.

"I can't tell you that," Masaki finally says.

"Well, why not?"

"Because even if I did, you won't believe me."

Yuuji has never wanted to scratch anything the way he wants to scratch Masaki's wispy face.

"You gotta have to figure it out for yourself."
