"You know this guy?!" Kazu mentally scoffs as Masaki appears crouching beside an oblivious Ohno, who has by then turned his attention back to his muted fishing show.

"Oh-chan's my best friend." Masaki says, calm and melancholic. "And the cat was my parting gift to him."

Kazu lays his head back to his paw, keeping his gaze at Ohno, re-examining his impressions of the guy—

"But he's wrong. You can't stay here."

"Well, I'm not going anywhere—"

"You'll have to, Kazu." Masaki's eyes look comforting, his words haunting in their tranquility. "Eventually, you're gonna have to learn to let go."
