Drabble-and-a-half Challenge: 022 Flight

And the fact that your roommate wet the bed every night absolutely had nothing to do with it, as Sho would soon realize.
He did not really request to be transferred to another room. After all, Kazunari was a nice kid, bedwetting and sudden midnight outbursts aside. But Headmaster Hatori had already arranged everything before actually telling him about it; lumping him in with some kid he hardly even knew, before he could even squeak and roll his eyes.
When you’re nine, you didn’t really get much say on things either.
So, it’s his third night bunking in with Satoshi. Third straight night he had dreamt about that cliff and the hundred-meter plunge he would take off of it into the bottomless sea—
It was also the third time in a single week he had woken up with his cheek pressed flat on the cold hardwood floor, his flickering consciousness rattled and lost and clawing for answers he didn’t even have a question for.
“Sho-chan, have you been flying again?”
He closed his eyes and groaned. Whatever it was he’s supposedly doing, it’s sure as hell not flying.
Falling would’ve been a more accurate term—
He heard the soft rustle of sheets from the other bed, felt the light tap of feet on the floor. His eyes snapped open as a pair of arms coiled around him from behind, pulling him tight against the warmth of a gently heaving chest. Even through the fabric of their pajamas, the gooseflesh on Sho’s back prickled at the unexpected contact.
“You can stop jumping now, Sho-chan.”
Breath hitching, heart beating so fast it could very well have reached the moon in a second, Sho eventually leaned into the hug with a trusting sigh. “Okay.”
This was the last time he would ever dream of that cliff.
